I am still upset with the NFL and their support of Michael Vick (the animal abuser) Now you whiners who say "He did his time so let it go" are seriously misinformed as are the ones who say he only financed the fight ring. All Vick paid for is FEDERAL RACKETEERING, not animal abuse. He admittede in court to participating in the torture and killing of "underperforming dogs" These dogs who would not fight or were not good enough fighters to satisfy Vick's bloodlust had jumper cabled clipped on their ear and genitals (OUCH) and were tossed in a pool to drown. There was no quick painless death. The gouges left behind by the victims claws as they tried to escape the pool tell the story.
"Michael Vick appologized for his mistake." Not even close folks He has never said a word about the victims and the group he is supposedly "helping" to fight animal abuse was one of the major supporters of killing every dog on the property. The HSUS is NOT a very good organization for dogs since until fairly recently their official stance on Breed specific Legislation was supporting the banning of many breeds of dogs. HELLO!!! Banning doesn't work. That is why Italy recinded their dog breed ban as ineffectual. Prosecuting the irresponsible owners does work.
BAD RAP did an awesome job in the protest against Vick's NFL comeback at the Raider's game against the Eagles. They had a banner flown over the stadium which read "DOG FIGHTERT GO HOME badrap.org. They even invited Mr. Vick to view his former dogs through a window (preventinga breach of his court order not to be in the same room with the animals) which the coward refused to accept.

Think before you breed!
The clown is back and has a new bee in his bonnett. Ok I don't really wear a bonnett but if I did there would be a whole hive in it after the last two days.
On Thursday Neekie got an email through her freecycle group that a lady had a pit bull she got from a man outside a bar. The man was giving the dogs away because he was about to be fined for having too many dogs and no breeder's permit from the city. The lady has a Pit Bull that doesn't like other dogs so she took Reese to a friend. The friend couldn't keep Reese either so she was being posted on freecycle to find a new home for her. We agreed to pick her up at 6:30 PM last night and Neekie was worthless at work all day in anticipation. At about 5:30 I got a phone call that Reese was not available to be picked up since she snuck out a window they didn't think Reese could climb out of. Animal control had picked her up and the lady couldn't afford to get her out of doggie jail.
Sue was crushed and called Animal Control and got the information needed to get this poor girl bailed out and this morning we went further into debt getting an advance at 120% APR intrest.
Talk about an amazing breed of dog! Reese shows signs of being bred. Scars around the top and sides of her neck and swolen teats. Her ears were cropped way too short and she is lame from a spider bite on her elbow. SHe was so happy to see Sue and me walk up to her jail cell and have us offer our hands for her to sniff and bgan licking us enthusiaticaly. Sue got into the cell with her as I took off to get the cash to bail her out. $95.00 later we headed home with a very happy girl with a new rabies shot and dog license. ( She wonders why she needs a license to be what God made her to be)
She has met all 3 of the dogs we own and shows no agression to any of them. She has met the cats and ignores them. (She says they are too far beneath her to recognize as existing)
Folks unless you have people who want the puppies and know what you are doing with breeding SPAY OR NEUTER your pets. There are millions of these dogs killed because there are more of them that there are responsible owners. Breeders don't price the lower income people out of being pet owners. Kids need good reliable dogs to help them learn to be responsible adults. If they are priced out of this they will be getting them from puppy mills and back yard breeders who are just after a quick buck they don't have to work much to get.

Pepsi is confused.
Last night I wrote a letter informing them that until their sponsored NFL team (the Eagles) got rid of Michael Vick or they got rid of the Eagles I was no longer buying any product they made. (Sure going to miss Mtn. Dew) Evidently the Pepsi Corporation is confused as to what a clown is. They must think I am an idiot instead of a professional fool.
Their reply to my online complaint submission is below followed by my response.
"Dear Charles,
Thank you for contacting Pepsi-Cola Company. We certainly appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
As you may know, Pepsi does not have a relationship with Michael Vick. In fact, we have never worked with this individual. However, we do agree with the NFL that Michael Vick’s illegal activities, for which he was convicted in 2007, were cruel and degrading.
The NFL has said that Mr. Vick has been reinstated to the league on a conditional basis and will be considered for full reinstatement in October based on the progress he makes in his transition plan. As sponsors of the NFL, we have the utmost confidence that the senior leadership at the NFL will continue to appropriately address this issue.
Once again, many thanks for contacting us and please be assured that your comments have been shared with the appropriate individuals within the Company.

I have to differ with you on the fact of Pepsi not having a relationship with Michael Vick. Does the Pepsi Corporation not sponsor the Philadelphia Eagles? Is Michel Vick not on the roster of the Eagles? Pepsi DOES have a relationship even if it is a case of guilt through association. My family and I will not have a relationship with Michael Vick in any form. Not even through Pepsi through the Eagles organization.
Please read the following and tell me the senior leadership has appropriately addressed the issue. If you do continue to feel the NFL is appropriate, then even the removal of the monster Vick from ALL NFL teams will not be enough to repair a long term relationship between Pepsi and my family as well as MANY other American Pit Bull Terrier lovers.
In the world of animal advocacy, we often encounter a popular twist on an old adage: “to err is human, to forgive canine.” Truly, one of the greatest lessons dogs can teach us is forgiveness. However, as humans we have a developed understanding of morality, and therefore must strive toward the higher ideal of justice.
Justice gives us a means through which to ensure that all living beings are treated equally, and to bring to light acts of immorality for the good of society. By administering justice, we are demonstrating that we as a society understand which values are most important. Those who commit brutal crimes should be seen as criminals, not idolized as heroes.
For most of us, the opportunity to make millions of dollars, or to do something we love for a living is not even a once in a lifetime opportunity. Michael Vick lived this lifestyle for years, and lost it through his own actions. The moment Michael Vick steps foot on the field we are sending a direct message to millions of football fans that cruelty to animals is no big deal.
Sadly, in a country where the law sees animals merely as property, many people feel that this is true. As Clinton Portis of the Washington Redskins said, “I don't know if he was fighting dogs or not, but it's his property, it's his dog. If that's what he wants to do, do it. I think people should mind their business.”
When considering the case of Michael Vick, it is important to remember that his crimes go far beyond merely profiting from the painful exploitation of animals for sport. Hearing that someone “executed” underperforming dogs does not convey the utter brutality with which these dogs were murdered. We cannot imagine the mindset required to take a completely defenseless creature that looks to you for protection, run jumper cables from a battery to that animal’s ears and genitals, and toss it into a pool.
This was not a quick death, as evidenced by the damage done to the sides of the pool by dogs desperate to get out. The only possible reason for subjecting a living animal to this form of torture is that the one doing it took some sort of pleasure in watching the animal suffer. Countless psychological studies link those who abuse animals to the abuse of other people as well. This is not the type of role model we should be promoting to our children.
Committing to justice does not mean that no one deserves a second chance. Surely, the only reason for administering justice is to allow individuals to see what they have done wrong and better themselves through the experience. But second chances must be earned. Not through a small prison sentence, but through humility and a heartfelt concern for the lives of others.
Vick’s reinstatement has not come as a surprise. In a society that sees any controversy as an opportunity to make money, Vick was sure to be offered a job by someone. Rumors have been circulating of books and reality shows in addition to his football contract. The criminals most of us don’t see are the corporations who use this sort of cruelty to their advantage, further proving that in America, justice is secondary to profitability.

Goodbye NFL
After many years of watching the NFL on TV it saddens me to say goodbye to the NFL. Upon hearing the commishioner of the NFL was allowing the monster animal abuser Michael Vick back onto the field of honor, I was forced to decide which is more important, the game or standing up for what is morraly right.
Being a lover of the "bully" breeds I cannot understand what would create a vile creature that would place these wonderful dogs in conditions which would turn them into killing machines. Only poor breeding and abuse creates a fighting dog.
Michael Vick bankrolled an intentional breeding system for creating mean dogs and he and his homies tortured them to ensure they would fight. Those who lost had jumper cables attached to their ears and genitals and were thrown into a pool to be killed. These dogs did not die willingly. from all acounts I have heard and read there are deep gouges in the sides of the pool where they tried to climb out diging their nails into the surface.
What does it say about the NFL and it's supporters that Vick only does 18 months of jail time, says I'm sorry and is allowed to bring his happy self back to the playing field? Nothing is being done to ensure he has changed. He does not have to earn his second chance. Even Walmart will not hire Vick due to their morality clause and the fact Vick is a CONVICTED FELLON. The NFL has fewer scruples than Walmart it seems.
I have an American Staffordshire Terrier, and American Pit Bull Terrier and a boxer mix. The Amstaff and the pit have free roam all the time even among the 3 cats, 3 rabbits and 11 birds in my house with no problems other than puffing up and trying to intimidate the others. The neutered male cat rules the roost and frequently does an attitude adjustment on the Pit and Amstaff.
